Biggest Acts To Hit Cornwall This Year!
Boardmaster’s recently announced a tranche of huge acts to hit the stage at the Watergate Bay festival this year.
The news broke recently that Kings of Leon, The 1975 and Septa among others will all headline at this years music festival.
This comes a year after the unfortunate circumstances that Boardmaster’s 2019 had to be cancelled due to severe weather conditions.
Of course, many were disappointed that last years festival did not go ahead, but Boardmasters 2020 acts will be sure to get people excited again, and we for one can’t wait.
Kings of Leon is an American rock band that formed in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1999. The band is composed of brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill with their cousin Matthew Followill.
They are well known for their hits ” Sex on Fire” and ”Use Somebody”
Sex on Fire hit the charts back in 2008 and was number one for 3 weeks.
Use Somebody followed in the same year to reach number 2.
There have been some big named acts playing at Boardmaster’s over the years and Boardmasters 2020 has an extra special feeling that the festival has gone up another level.
As well as Kings of Leon headlining on Saturday night you can also look forward to The 1975 playing such hits as ”Chocolate” and ”Somebody Else”
The 1975’s breakthrough hit is currently their most successful single, with a mighty 907,000 combined sales, including 54 million streams. The track – revealed by Matt as a “love letter to the authority figures” and about “small town boredom” – was radio staple in 2013. Chocolate was a slow burner on the Official Singles Chart, debuting at Number 71 in February 2013, and eventually peaked at 19 and spent 35 weeks inside the Top 100. Source OfficialCharts.com

“This is all part of the mission to have eradicated all non-essential single use plastics from Boardmasters by next Summer’s festival.
“Beyond the music, Boardmasters will return with its epic surf competition, part of the World Surf League Qualifying Series as the biggest names on the international surf scene battle it out on the waves at Fistral Beach”.
Organisers added: “Inspired by the freedom, adventure and creativity of surfing and music, Boardmasters was born in 1981.
“Expect parties that run late into the night and a beautiful beach to recuperate on during the day.
“The five-day event is situated across two stunning locations in Cornwall – UK surfing mecca, Fistral Beach, where world class International Surf Competitions take place, and the most stunning location in the country to watch live music, Watergate Bay”.
