Blue Reef Aquarium

Beach side Aqurium in Newquay

Blue Reef Aquarium is situated only a few minutes walk from the centre of Newquay and sits directly on Towan Beach.

This is one of those fantastic places to visit in Newquay when it’s raining.

There is lots to do and see here at Blue Reef Newquay and they have around 40 natural habitats to look at whilst here.

You really get the taste of what it would be like under water and they even have an underwater tunnel guiding you past sharks, sea turtles and lots of colourful fish from all over the world.

The biggest fish of them all is of course the black tip reef sharks.

Coral reef is one of the main places this particular shark likes to hunt, hence the name, Reef Shark!

The Blue Reef Aquarium also offers some great advice on how to protect the marine environment including reducing your carbon footprint among other things you can do to help.

You can sometimes see a trained member of staff carrying out tutorials on the beach in front of the aquarium too.
