About
About Lanhydrock
Lanhydrock was home to the Robartes family. Much of the house was rebuilt after a fire in 1881, and today it shows how a wealthy Victorian family and their servants lived, from the grand rooms upstairs to the kitchens, sculleries and larders below.
Parts of the 17th-century house survived the fire, including the gatehouse and the Long Gallery with its remarkable plaster ceiling. Outside there are formal gardens, woodland walks along the River Fowey and miles of family-friendly cycle trails.
