About
About Restormel Castle
Restormel’s great circular shell keep is one of the best-preserved examples of its kind in England. Built on an earlier earthwork, it was developed in the 13th century and later belonged to the Duchy of Cornwall; Edward the Black Prince stayed here in the 14th century.
Walk the top of the walls for wonderful views over the wooded Fowey valley. In spring the moat and banks are covered with wild flowers.
