About
About Cotehele
Cotehele was home to the Edgcumbe family for centuries. Its granite house, built mainly in Tudor times, is filled with tapestries, armour and old oak furniture, and has changed remarkably little over the years.
Terraced gardens, an orchard and a medieval dovecote lead down through the valley to Cotehele Quay on the Tamar, with its restored sailing barge Shamrock, and on to the working mill. At Christmas, the Great Hall is famous for its huge garland of dried flowers.
