About
About Crantock Beach
Crantock Beach sits at the mouth of the Gannel river, with tall sand dunes behind it and the headlands of Pentire and West Pentire on either side. It feels much wilder than Newquay’s town beaches, though it is only a few minutes away.
In summer you can cross the Gannel from Newquay by a small ferry or, at low tide, by footbridge, and the village of Crantock, with its old church and pubs, is a short walk inland.

Plan your visit
Crantock is lifeguarded in season. The Gannel has strong tidal currents, so never swim in the estuary channel. There is a National Trust car park behind the dunes.
