About
About Kynance Cove
Kynance Cove lies on the west side of the Lizard peninsula and is cared for by the National Trust. Its rock stacks and islands are made of serpentine, a dark green and red stone found on the Lizard, and at low tide sandy channels open up between them.
The cove has been a famous beauty spot since Victorian times. Above the beach, the clifftop heathland is home to rare plants and is a lovely place for a walk along the coast path.

Before you go
Plan your visit
The beach almost disappears at high tide, so check tide times and go around low tide. The National Trust car park is at the top of the cliff, with a steep walk down. The car park fills early in summer, and there are no lifeguards, so take care in the water.
