About
About Polruan
Polruan’s cottages climb steeply up the hill from its quay, opposite Fowey on the other side of the river. A small passenger ferry links the two, and the 15th-century blockhouse on the shore once held a chain across the river mouth to protect the harbour.
From the top of the village there are wonderful views over the estuary, and the coast path leads east to Lantic Bay.
