About
About Botallack Crowns
The Crowns engine houses at Botallack cling to the cliffs just above the sea. They were built in the 1800s to pump water and haul ore from mine workings that ran far out under the seabed, and they are now part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining World Heritage Site.
The area is cared for by the National Trust and has been used as a filming location for Poldark. The coast path links Botallack with Levant, Geevor and Cape Cornwall.
