About
About The Cheesewring
The Cheesewring is a natural tower of weathered granite slabs, the larger ones balanced on top of smaller ones, said to look like the press once used to make cider (a “cheese wring”). Local legend says it was left by giants.
It stands on Stowe’s Hill beside an old quarry and the remains of a Neolithic hilltop enclosure, with views across east Cornwall.
