About
About Jamaica Inn
Jamaica Inn has stood beside the old road across Bodmin Moor since the 18th century, when it was a coaching inn and, legend says, a haunt of smugglers. Daphne du Maurier stayed here in 1930, and the inn inspired her 1936 novel Jamaica Inn.
Today it is a pub, restaurant and hotel, with a smugglers museum and a room dedicated to du Maurier. Its location just off the A30 makes it a popular stop on the way into Cornwall.
