About
About Charlestown Harbour
Charlestown was built in the 1790s by local businessman Charles Rashleigh to export china clay and copper. Its harbour, dock and Georgian buildings have barely changed since, making it a sought-after location for period dramas including Poldark.
Tall ships often moor in the dock, and the Shipwreck Treasure Museum tells the story of wrecks and rescues along the coast.
