About
About Bedruthan Steps
According to legend, the huge slate stacks on the beach were stepping stones for the giant Bedruthan. Whatever their story, the view from the clifftop at Carnewas, between Newquay and Padstow, is one of the most dramatic in Cornwall.
The clifftops are cared for by the National Trust, with a café, shop and easy paths along the coast path to viewpoints.

Before you go
Plan your visit
Access down to the beach is by a steep cliff staircase, which has been closed at times for safety after rockfalls, so check the National Trust website before planning to go down. The clifftop views alone are well worth the visit. The beach is cut off at high tide and is not safe for swimming.
