About
About Chapel Porth
Chapel Porth is a small cove at the foot of a steep valley, cared for by the National Trust. At low tide a long stretch of sand opens up towards Porthtowan, but at high tide the sea fills the cove, so check the tides.
A short walk along the clifftop takes you to Wheal Coates, one of the most photographed engine houses in Cornwall. The beach café is famous for its “hedgehog” ice cream, topped with clotted cream and hazelnuts.
