Aerial Cornwall was established in 2014 by Matthew Burtwell.
Matt has a fond appreciation of the outdoors and the Cornish coastline.
Wanting to bring a new perspective to a much loved and photographed coastline, he purchased a drone to capture some fresh new angles of popular beaches and stretches of coastline.
The images were well received and Matt gained a worldwide following of people who love the Cornish county and enjoy seeing it from angles rarely seen before.
Today Matt uses drones full time to capture photos and videos for businesses, estate agents and for artwork purposes – a dream job for someone who started things out as a hobby to simply enjoy what’s on his doorstop.
“I’m really passionate about Cornwall and it’s coastline.
It’s great to be able to share my images with people all over the world through my website and social media.
I’m very thankful to be in this new line of work with the popularity of drones growing all the time.
The future is very exciting!”
“My work takes me all over Cornwall and further afield.
I have worked with all sorts of companies and businesses, including Cornwall Today, We Are Cornwall, Surfers Against Sewage, Porthleven Holiday Cottages, Classic Cottages and the BBC to name just a few.
The majority of my work comes from a fantastic local estate agent who are keen to sell the location in addition to the property itself.”
“My favourite places to shoot are in the far west of Cornwall, around Land’s End, Sennen and Porthcurno.
The rugged scenery in this area makes it a perfect place for dramatic footage.”
Aerial Cornwall is fully licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority and has public liability insurance of £5 million.
Safety is a priority, and with the increasing popularity of drones Aerial Cornwall strives to set the highest standard and fully complies with drone regulations.
